Jacques Lemay
Jacques Lemay has been a visiting professor at HEC Montréal since 2009, and Director of the Department of Finance since 2019. He teaches courses in securities trading ethics and regulation, governance, acquisition and restructuring, risk capital and innovation funding. He participates in the HEC’s governance bodies, including the Academic Council and the Research Ethics Board.
Jacques is a lawyer by training and a member of the Quebec Bar. He has an MBA from HEC Montréal and a Master of Laws from Université de Montréal. Among other things, he is interested in the connection between ethics and law. Before joining the HEC in 2009, he was an investment banker in the securities industry for 19 years. Over the course of his banking career, he was involved with the securities industry self-regulatory organization. He has since been a hearing panel member for the organization’s disciplinary matters.

Stéphane Rousseau
Stéphane Rousseau is a Professor and Chair in Governance and Business Law at the Faculty of Law, Université de Montréal. He has a Doctorate of Laws degree from the University of Toronto, and is a renowned expert in corporate law, corporate governance and capital market law.
A member of the Quebec Bar, Stéphane is an independent director on the Board of Directors of the Chambre de la sécurité financière. He is also a member of the Montréal Exchange’s disciplinary committee and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada’s disciplinary panel. Stéphane received the Advocatus Emeritus (Ad. E.) distinction, which recognizes professional excellence. In 2019, he was awarded the Paul-André Crépeau Medal for his contribution to the advancement of the international dimension of private and commercial law in Canada.

Ginette Depelteau
Ginette Depelteau is a lawyer and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1989. She also has an MBA. She worked as Corporate Secretary and Senior Vice-President, Compliance, for the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) for 25 years. In that role, she developed the function of compliance, as well as an approach, strategy and guidelines with regard to ethics, from 1994 to October 2019. She participated in amendments to the Act respecting the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec that led to the modernization of the CPDQ’s governance structure, and developed the function of compliance, as well as an approach, strategy and guidelines for responsible investing and ethics.

Marie-Andrée Alain
A lawyer by training who was called to the bar in 2009, Marie-Andrée Alain has held a variety of roles at Desjardins Group in compliance, privacy and financial crime since 2010.
She has been in her current position of Vice-President and Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer since 2020. In 2021, she was also appointed to oversee money laundering, tax evasion, corruption and fraud operations.

Anne-Marie Lynda Boisvert
During her 20 years with the Forensic practice, she managed several forensic and investigative cases, including investigations into suspected and alleged frauds, bribery and corruption pursuant to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (CFPOA), secret commissions, non-compliance with company policies and other financial irregularities. She conducted and assisted law enforcement agencies in investigations that involved obtaining search warrants, interviewing witnesses and interrogating suspects, establishing facts and circumstances, preparing summaries of evidence and reports, and testifying in court. She also completed several damage quantification and dispute engagements. She has vast international experience, having worked on many international investigations in Europe and Asia.

Pascale Dubois
Pascale recently retired from the World Bank Group (WBG), where she was the VP of Integrity (INT), leading the WBG’s investigative efforts and the pursuit of sanctions in connection with allegations of fraud and corruption on WBG-financed projects, in addition to corporate compliance and prevention. She previously served as the World Bank’s first ever Chief Suspension and Debarment Officer, and prior to that she managed the ground-breaking Voluntary Disclosure Program in INT and also worked as an operational lawyer advising the Africa region for seven years. Before joining the WBG, Pascale was in private practice in the U.S. and Belgium for 10 years.
Pascale served as Co-Chair of both the International Bar Association (IBA)’s Anti-Corruption Committee and the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of International Law’s Anti-Corruption Committee, where she remains senior advisor.
She is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and has been an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center since 2009, where she teaches a course on international anti-corruption. Pascale received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Ghent, Belgium, and her Master of Laws (LLM) from New York University (NYU).

Stéphane Eljarrat
Known for his composed and focused approach, Stéphane represents companies and institutions in a wide range of criminal investigations and proceedings brought under various federal criminal statutes such as the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act and the Competition Act.
Stéphane defends clients in complex trials and regulatory proceedings and the associated appeals, and advises and represents them in high-stakes regulatory investigations. He also advises Canadian and foreign corporations in the context of internal investigations, as well as on the design and implementation of compliance programs.

Karine Fournier
Karine Fournier specializes in the fields of labour, employment and human rights. In addition to frequently appearing before the different courts, Karine also plays a key advisory role, in particular during certification applications and collective bargaining negotiations. Dominic Jaar
Dominic Jaar, a partner at KPMG Canada, is a Regional Leader in Management Consulting. His expertise led him to join the forensic technology service, which he managed for nearly a decade, to work with various local, national and international organizations in the public and private sectors, in the fields of information management, electronic discovery, cyber investigations and data analytics. His team works on analyzing their maturity, defining their vision and strategy, developing their governance, policies and procedures, choosing and implementing systems, and training employees to manage and use information. Dominic also leads various technological investigations involving all types of malfeasance (e.g., ransomware, personal identity and intellectual property theft, fraud, corruption, money laundering). Maria Knapp

Manon Roy
Over the past 20 years, she has conducted multiple financial investigations, and has earned an enviable reputation on the international scene, notably as a result of numerous major investigations conducted in Canada, France and Africa. She has helped various regulatory organizations, in particular the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) in Paris and the Haut Conseil du commissariat aux comptes (H3C) in Paris, implement and optimize their investigation methods.
She has helped several companies and organizations examine the main risks of fraud in order to implement effective prevention and detection systems. She has also completed numerous compliance engagements for various companies, financial institutions and regulatory bodies.
Manon Roy is an experienced public speaker and one of the rare authors specializing in forensic accounting. In 2012, she published a first book in French on forensic accounting in collaboration with Guylaine Leclerc, currently the Auditor General of Quebec, and Emmanuel Charrier, Associate Professor at Université Paris-Dauphine. The book, published in Canada and France, examines North American and French financial investigation techniques.
